Artem Lyapin was born in 1996 in East Siberia, in the town of Shelekhov, which was built at the same time as a metallurgical plant.
At an early age, he moved to Irkutsk, where he studied fine arts. His artistic practice includes drawing and weaving. This young Russian artist's book, The Thaw, is a sensitive and poetic little gem which, according to the author, speaks of the slow progression of the seasons in Siberia and how easy it is to wither and how difficult it is to blossom.
Through a number of publishing initiatives, Label Rapace aims to give a voice to young Russian artists.
